Overview

This Sicilian islands are the top spots for tuna fishing in the whole Mediterranean Sea. April to September is the best moment of the year if you want to catch big Blue Fin Tunas because of its ”way” of passing just by our west coast. If rightly equipped it is possible to catch the ”Red Giant” when you are land-based, with spinning and popping techniques. Here everything is about tuna fishing and ”Tonnara” history. However, it is always possible to catch all classic mediterranean predators, like Amberjack, Common dentex, Barracuda, Seabass, bluefish, Sadded Seabream, Skipjack tuna, etc.

Also, guests who prefer not to go fishing, will be provided with a separate program to explore the islands.

Full Trip Porgram



Day 1: Arrive in Sicily, then you will be picked up at one of the 4 Sicilian Airports, by the guide in order to catch a ferry or hydrofoil (20minutes) to destination Island. From there, you will be escorted to the lodges. (Guests will have the option of spending one night in Catania to see Mount Etna).

Fishing: Once settled in the Island’s lodge, an introduction to the fishing techniques and a strategy plan to the fishing will be held. First fishing session.

Not Fishing: bike excursion, on the flat zone of the islands up to a Calcarenite quarry/cave forming a solarium above crystal-clear waters. Chance to Stop and swim here. Following the shore track you will find an amazing beach for snorkeling and relax, called Cala Azzurra. Typical Sicilian launch or fish restaurant.



Day 2: Fishing: 3 fishing sessions for Sea bass and Bluefish in between light trekking sessions throughout lost stone caves.

Not Fishing: Exploring the other side of the Island. Stop in front of the island of Levanzo to take delight of the incredible Panorama. Visit to the prehistoric caves, part of an ancient village. Sea trekking on the north side of the island’s corner, looking for the rare Monk Seal or free ride of the island at guests’ choice. Sicilian dinner.



Day 3: Fishing: Early breakfast, all day fishing (3 sessions – 1 at sunrise,1 at the half day and 1 at sunset). Jigging from Shore, target fishes: Tunas, Amberjack, Dentex (Mediterranean Snapper). Visit to the Old Tonnara (Tuna industry) of Favignana, learn the history of tuna fishing.

No Fishing: trekking to the top of the Island and visit to an old isolation prison. Visit to the Old Tonnara (Tuna industry) of Favignana, learn the history of tuna fishing. Classic Sicilian lunch. Afternoon: free-ride excursion to lost working caves of Calcarenite Stone. Stop by one of the world’s top ten classified coves; landscape sighting or swimming to get your energy back. Pizza dinner or Barbecue on the beach. Boat ride option.



Day 4: Fishing: Rich breakfast and sunrise fishing session. Boat session option.

Not Fishing: Trip to Levanzo/Marettimo island. Return trip to Sicily’s airport for your return flight.
